FILLING YOU UP WITH EVERYTHING GOOD IN NORWICH EACH MONTH

Norwich Sacred Harp Singers

AcousticClassicalGospelFolk

We are a small but growing group who sing the vibrant, spirited music from The Sacred Harp tunebook. It is free for anyone to join us, previous experience of singing or music reading isn't necessary (though it helps!), and there is no obligation (as we sing for our own enjoyment, and do not generally perform in public).

We meet every Monday evening, from 7.00 until around 9.15, at the Octagon Chapel, Colegate, Norwich, NR3 1BN (having outgrown our previous room at the Friends' Meeting House).

If you can, bring along some nibbles to share and a small donation to help us cover the cost of hiring the room.Check the facebook group in case of any changes!

What does it sound like? It has been described as "a cross between bluegrass and Gregorian chant" and "a-capella heavy metal of the 19th century" - imagine a bunch of hillbillies and punks singing Renaissance church music, and that might give you some idea...

We look forward to singing with you!

People overheard talking about us (take what you will from these!):"They sound really great, I'd love to join in - though I feel like I might end up married to eight of them or something...""When they started singing, I felt like I was about to be sacrificed - but in a good way"
