Aphra is a singer/songwriter debuting her EP (A Wonderful Adventure) along with a freshly formed band at The Waterfront Studios in Norwich. Now 18, she began her journey at 14 playing as a solo artist and has been entertaining the local Norwich scene since. Last year after playing music festivals such as Sundown and Latitude, Aphra began thinking about the next step and with her band ‘Aphra’ she is now more ready than ever to wow the crowd. This young female wordsmiths aim is to get you to feel, cry, dance and celebrate the intricacies of life through music; with quirky social lyrics, colorful catchy melodies and a base of raw acoustic guitar she will take you on a journey of emotions. After months of production Aphra is now backed with an eclectic choice of instruments and sounds in analog style. ”Aphra whose versatile vocal style allows her to switch seamlessly from highly personal songs like Grow Up, through edgier political material such as Billboards, to using clever poetic metaphor in the likes of Candy Floss." - Outline Magazine Friends, family and fans alike come down to party on Friday the 30th of March 2018. Supporting are three extremely talented female songwriters each with their own highly individual styles: Lucy Grubb creates an exciting alt-country sound with influences such as Johnny Cash, Frank Turner and John Mayer. Elly Bishop brings together soft indie rock with heartfelt lyrics to equal an electric atmosphere. Poppy Read stands out with soulful vocals, clever playful lyrics and jazzy guitar chords.
