Service user led community music group

The Black Dog Music Project is a service user led community music group that provides music sessions for beginners to ex professional musicians who have suffered mental health problems or disabilities. The Project is proactive and keen to be involved with enabling its members to establish themselves into the wider community and challenge any form of discrimination experienced during their recovery journey.

The Black dog Music Project is a Norwich Based Charity that provides help and support for people who have suffered mental health problems or disability. We provide music sessions throughout the week at Earth studios Norwich for our members to attend weekly sessions to either learn to play from scratch or regain forgotten skills with a goal to raising their confidence & self esteem, join existing or form new bands within the project. We are now in our 10th year and have helped so many people become less socially isolated and confident to deal with other barriers in their lives. Its not just about music, we offer support to our members with advocacy, form filling and advice. We are also a member group of the NCODP where we sign post people to for help. 1 in 4 people suffer from mental health issues, no-one is immune from suffering at sometime and its great to know that there are organisations like the project here to help you when you need us.
