Field Day takes place in Victoria Park, Tower Hamlets, London. This is its ninth year, and it’s sold out every time, which is quite some achievement. It’s a nice, simple festival, spread over two days in a place that’s easy to get to, and has the most cutting edge of bands you could want to see alongside some quirky unknowns and classic icons. This year is no exception, with new-ish bands Hookworms, Kindness and the Allah La’s playing as well as more established acts like Django Django, Caribou and Madlib. The Pixies headlined last year, and the audience will no doubt be full of 40 year old shoegazers thrilled to see Ride reformed in 2015. It’s a hipster’s paradise, from egg and spoon races to Tim Burgess out of the Charlatans’ coffee bike, so don’t forget your beard and stripy top.
