As many regular readers may know, I have an issue with Eps. Now don’t get me wrong, Eps are great in their own right, but I really do not like good Eps. Rubbish Eps are OK, as they’reover quickly and give you a reprieve, as opposed to a bad album, but a really good EP isn’t anywhere near long enough.

Also, as many regular readers know, I’m something of a rock/metal fan so you may ask wtf I’m doing reviewing a country music EP. My answer to that would be that it’s good to challenge yourself occasionally…. Honestly though, this EP is good, and I mean REALLY good.

As country music goes, all the boxes are ticked. Can you sing along to the songs? Absolutely. That said, despite popular opinion, the music doesn’t make you depressed, or want to buy a pick-up truck or drive a tractor. Stereotypes are awful,aren’t they? The tracks are lively and catchy, it’s far removed from the preconceptions that people might make about country music.

So what you get, are five tracks that highlight what is great about country music, in fact there are absolutely no downsides that I can think of, apart from…. It’s an EP and that it’s not nearly long enough. More of the same please, because if you’re a newcomer to the country music genre, this will whet your appetite and leave you longing for more. In fact you may even go listen to some Garth Brooks or Sam Coe, just to keep you going cold turkey!
