Barbie

Wow, the Barbie film exceeded all expectations!

This highly anticipated masterpiece of the year truly lived up to the hype, leaving our households divided between Team Barbie and Team Oppenheimer. I had the pleasure of watching it at Cinema City, my favourite spot in Norwich. The cinema's warm and welcoming atmosphere, with the staff dressed in pink, created a sense of community that made the evening even more enjoyable.

As the trailers rolled, I couldn't help but think I'd watch each highlighted film, I never do. I was soon lost in the captivating world of Barbie.

The movie magically transported us to Barbie Land, it felt like a childhood dream come true. The attention to detail in the production set was flawless. There was so much pink included within the set design, there was a global shortage of the Barbie pink paint. What impressed me the most was how the film tackled topics like Sexism, Patriarchy, and Mental Health with a perfect blend of humour and insight. It was an unexpected yet refreshing approach that I embraced wholeheartedly.

As the storyline unfolded, we witnessed the beloved "stereotypical" Barbie embarking on an adventure in the Real World to save herself from thoughts of death and cellulite. Ken joined the journey and discovered a new perspective on the real world's dynamics, he was thrilled by the male dominance world.

The marketing for this film was truly a spectacle, and I didn't mind being immersed in all things Barbie for the past month. The star-studded cast featured Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, Emma Mackey, Michael Cera, Dua Lipa, and many other brilliant actors.

In summary, the Barbie film delivered on all fronts, combining a well-crafted story, compelling themes, and a fantastic cast to create an unforgettable cinematic experience. It's a must-see for anyone looking to relive their childhood fantasies with a fresh and modern twist.
