Burning Shed Celebrates 10 Years...

Norwich's own record shop and label, Burning Shed celebrates 10 years of moving and shaking with an exclusive gig at The Curve at the Forum on Oct 1st as part of Norwich Sound & Vision 2011 (www.norwichsoundandvision.co.uk)

Burning Shed is an online global brand that has been bucking generally declining trends in the music industry since 2001 and now generates a turnover “well into” seven figures. With its status as an official 'chart shop', its sales alone could elevate a track to UK chart entry level. They also have a strong charity commitment with their posthumous sales of Mick Karn's (Dali’s Car, ex-Japan) releases having raised more than £5000 for charity so far. They are also taking part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning 2011: full details at www.burningshed.com/store/macmillan2011

Largely out of sight from Thorpe Road’s population but very much out there in worldwide web land, Burning Shed celebrates its 10th anniversary on Saturday 1 October with an exclusive gig in the suitably exciting setting of The Forum’s state-of-the-art subterranean theatre, The Curve, as part of Norwich Sound & Vision 2011.

The three founders of Burning Shed, Tim Bowness, Pete Morgan and Peter Chilvers will be performing, as Slow Electric, alongside renowned Estonian musicians Robert Jürjendal and Aleksei Saks.

Italian post-rock band Nosound will make a rare appearance and Ex-Wise Heads – an instrumental duo featuring Porcupine Tree’s Colin Edwin and Henry Cow’s Geoff Leigh – will be making its live debut in the UK.

The celebrated minimalist composer Marvin Ayres will be performing a short set to promote his forthcoming new album Harmogram Suite.

Looping guitarist Andy Butler and designer Carl Glover will supply additional sounds and images for the show.

E-tickets are on sale from the Burning Shed label section of www.burningshed.com, priced at £12. Some tickets will be also available on the door from 7.15pm, also priced at £12. Performances start at 8pm.
