Interview with Hadouken + Ticket Comp!

Hello! How's 2013 treating you?

Very well thanks, been pretty busy with album promo and the Russian tour and now getting ready for the UK tour.

For our readers who might not have heard you before, can you give me a quick overview of what you are about?

We are an electronic / rock / dance act from London UK. Our sound is quite dance-centric but we focus on songs that can be played live (with electric guitars and drum kits etc) and we like to rave and party.

Your new album ‘Every Weekend’ was released last week, what kind of reception have you got from that so far?

The response has been very positive so far. It's our third top 40 album and the fans on the social networks have been enthusiastic about it all.

Are there any bands you listened to during the writing/recording of ‘Every Weekend’ that you feel inspired you?

It's difficult to say because we try and keep a distance from other music in the writing process but certainly most of the music from house, drum and bass and dubstep has an influence on our music. The producers we worked with such as Noisia, Loadstar and Feed Me all have an influence on our sonic.

I see you guys are playing Reading and Leeds this year, how are you feeling about this and are there any other bands on the lineup you are looking forward to seeing?

Yeah definitely. Reading and Leeds are certainly our favourite festival to go to as gig-goers, always love the mix of rock and heavier stuff on the bill and this year we would love to see System of Down, Biffy and possibly Eminem.

Will we be seeing you pop up on any other festival lineups?

Yep certainly. We are doing a whole bunch of European gigs from Germany to Belgium and in Eastern Europe (which always have pretty crazy line ups and they like to have a party.) Hopefully by the time everyone reads this we will be announced as a headliner to another UK festival but the official announcement is coming soon.

How have you been preparing for the upcoming tour?

We have been rehearsing a few new songs from the new album and getting our heads round a few old ones from back in the day that are always fan favourites.

Do you have any favourite songs to play live?

At the moment I am currently enjoying ‘Levitate’, which is our new single. When we play it live we go into a reprise of the Koven remix which is very bass heavy and it goes off live!

You're coming to visit us in Norwich on your tour, what has your previous experience of our city been and are you excited to come back?

We love Norwich; it has such a good gig scene and a few decent venues. It's also cool that it is kinda the biggest place to visit in the mid-east of England. The Waterfront always sells quite well for us so we wanna make sure people go and buy tickets!
