Veja, the footwear brand with one foot firmly in fashion and the other grounded deep in fair trading, is making its steps towards Norwich.
The Parisian sneaker brand is on the verge of launching its Autumn / Winter 2011 Collection, and will include new independent men's store, Seven Wolves as part of its select outlets. The launch event is on December 1st @ Seven Wolves, and you're invited.
Seven Wolves opened last month on Norwich's Exchange St, the real estate previously inhabited solely by premium women's store, Catfish, which has now moved below, downstairs from Seven Wolves. With an ethos of providing high quality garments with a clean, modern look, Veja fits in perfectly with the entirety of what Seven Wolves has to offer.
For sneaker fans, the AW11 Collection pieces speak for themselves, but the story that runs through the very soul - or sole - of the Veja family, is the complete opposite to the often transient nature of fashion.
Veja believes in Fair Trade. Not as a badge of honour. Not as an intangible notion. Not as an unsustainable act of charity. Veja operates in a consistent, enabling code of practice that we know as Fair Trade.
Established in Paris, the company actually sources its component parts from Brazil, using organic cotton and wild rubber in the making of every shoe. Each pair is constructed on Brazilian soil before being shipped to France, and now delivered to Norwich for our delectation.
Veja describes its relationship with Brazil as a 'chain of solidarity', and further enforces its relationship through its financial support, helping integrate members of society back into work, by working in the Veja production team.
Whether you tow the line for fashion footwear, or make strides towards supporting ethical work practices, you're making a big footprint on both camps with Veja Footwear.
