Growing up in England during the challenging years of the Second World War and later emigrating to Perth in Western Australia, Peter developed a profound interest in Italian Divisionism. Peter works in the medium of oil on canvas and mixed media. In his practice, he explores the mutability of contrasting colours, working intimately close to the canvas, placing each dot of vivid colour, creating a pastel-like effect overall.
His goal as an artist is to create paintings that entice the viewers to immerse themselves in the intricate details of the brushstrokes while also appreciating the harmonious pastel overview of each piece.
While Peter has had the honour of exhibiting at esteemed venues like the Royal Academy of Art, the Guild Hall, and the John Moors Gallery this marks his first one-man exhibition.
Peter's artistic vision has been shaped by the diverse cultures and landscapes he has encountered throughout his life. His work is inspired by the sum of his life's memories over 65 years. "It is both my blessing and my curse. Creating art is a constant journey driven by a deep-rooted need to paint, much like the need to breathe."
