Billy Lubach is a Norwich based composer multi-instrumentalist and
songwriter. He performs with a cast of classically trained and session
musicians who give voice to his complex and intricate arrangements.
With a tremulous voice and the backing of his baroque folk
ensemble, Billy Lubach weaves fragmented childhood memories and
slivers of folklore into abstract but resonant narratives.
Since forming in 2020, Billy’s band has grown to a septet, with
piano, saxophone, clarinet, cello, flute, double bass, trumpet, guitar, lap steel and percussion each lending its own sound. Prior to this, Billy Lubach’s releases were entirely self-performed, with violin, cello and
trumpet forming the core of his compositions.
