J. Zunz is the solo project of Mexican artist Lorena Quintanilla, originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, and one half of Lorelle Meets the Obsolete. Through three albums for Rocket Recordings (UK) and Monofonus Press (US), she has developed a sound that balances stark electronics, atmospheric tension and a pulse that can slip—often abruptly—into something more forceful and rhythmically driven.
Onstage, J. Zunz operates in a charged space between ambient immersion and cathartic electronics, weaving analogue and electroacoustic elements into performances that resonate with both experimental audiences and those drawn to harder, beat-oriented sonics. Her music has taken her on extensive tours across Mexico, Europe, and the UK, with performances at festivals such as Roadburn (Tilburg), OUT.FEST (Barreiro), and Supersonic (Birmingham).
Her fourth album was release May this year.
