Museum Late: Good harmonies, misbegotten words and pre-ripped jeans

Museum Late guest curated by Alice Theobald Good harmonies, misbegotten words and pre-ripped jeans brings together artists whose work explores the roles we inherit, construct and perform — on screen, on stage and in everyday life. Moving between the intimate and the collective, the serious and the absurd, this evening of film, music and performance considers themes of authenticity, self-help culture, digital and analogue life, misunderstanding and the insufficiency of language.   Artists Alice Theobald National Rails Philip Ewe Tessa Norton     Alice Theobald is an artist working across a range of media including video, film, live performance, installation, text, drawing and sculpture exploring the divisions between stage and life and the discrepancies between expression, appearance and feeling. Alice Theobald has exhibited in galleries, museums and festivals internationally, including significant solo presentations at Eastside Projects; South London Gallery; Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art; Chisenhale Gallery; Gaudel Del Stampa, Paris; Museum Leuven, Belgium and Art Night. https://alicetheobald.party   Philip Ewe is an artist working in performance, installation, photography, sculpture and film.

His work has been presented internationally, including a solo exhibition at Strange Field, Glasgow, and performances at the Royal Academy of Arts, London; Wolphaert, Rotterdam; Four Boxes Gallery, Krabbesholm, Skive, Denmark; and Whitechapel Gallery, London. He will present a forthcoming solo exhibition at TINA, London, in October 2026. https://www.philipewe.com   National Rails is a three-piece group performing songs inspired by 60s guitar bands and the life of cats. She has an interdisciplinary practice across text, moving image and sound, often using wilfully inappropriate theoretical frameworks (like archive cinema, pop music, and esoteric philosophy) to playfully explore cosmic and expansive concepts which are probably a bit too cosmic and expansive to wisely explore, but doing it anyway.
