Parviz “Khorshid Khanoom” 2026 UK Tour pt. II
Support by Wiffeney
Parviz’s self-titled debut album is slated for 2026: tinged with psych, funk and a touch of Persian classic sounds, it evokes the spirit of Iran’s 70’s music scene, while adding a modern touch. Flowery, kaleidoscopic and contemplative, it’s like an old taping of Iran’s beloved music show Rangarang brought back to life, only this time with detuned synths, DIY aesthetics and a certain indie je-ne-sais-quoi. It’s at times candid, nostalgic, dreamy and fierce; both rooted in Persian culture and distinctly modern.
Lead single “Azadeh” — a female given name meaning “free-spirited” — pays homage to the “Woman Life Freedom” movement, with artwork by Rana Fadavi emphasising its urgency. Follow-up “Sappho’s Fragments” aired on BBC Radio 6 and has totalled half a million streams since its release.
Parviz’s music aired on BBC Radio 1 & 6, FIP, and has been found on playlists from Facemelts, A1234 and many more. After touring the UK earlier this year and playing 5 sold out shows, Parviz will be back in November 2026 for the second leg of his “Khorshid Khanoom” tour, and will be playing at Voodoo Daddy’s Showroom on 24th November.
Wiffeney is the brainchild of two best friends: Grammy-nominated drummer and producer Jai D (Jay Z, Tyler The Creator, Haelos) and renowned animator Steph Hope (FX Networks, Haruomi Hosono). The band’s sound is soulful vocals over infectious rhythms, sprawling guitars and gloopy synths, along with their trademark psychedelic visuals.
