Add to calendarIn 1950s Italy machismo rules, so when Petruchio weds Katherina ‘the shrew’ he starves and humiliates her into marital submission – or so it seems. In the sexual revolution of 1960s London, Petruchio plans a repeat with his second wife, Maria, but supported by the solidarity of second-wave feminism, she turns the tables on him. Shrew’d brings these two raucous, provocative sex-war comedies together into a single performance.
