The holly or each other?â€
Christmas 1183 – King Henry II’s family has gathered for the celebrations.

With his once-loving wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine, using her release from imprisonment to seek revenge, their three sons consumed with petty sibling rivalry, his mistress – and eldest son’s betrothed – demanding either a wedding or her dowry back, and her brother, the King of France, joining the party, the stage is set for a festive period that could turn deadly.
Ruthless ambition meets family rivalry in Goldman’s witty, razor-sharp play that sees the dysfunctional Plantagenet’s fight over who will inherit the throne. While on holiday, Peter and Debbie befriend Elsa, an eccentric, Trump-supporting widow from Denver. They agree to stay in touch, knowing it’s unlikely to happen.

However, Elsa has other ideas and invites herself to stay. Things start to go awry when disturbing evidence about the house guest’s past is discovered online. It seems Peter and Debbie might have put themselves and their family in peril but are they too polite to do anything about it?
.
