Adelaide's Cape
Adelaide’s Cape are an upcoming indie folk band based during term time in Bath, UK. Originally from Norwich and still based there for half of the year, the duo formed in 2006 and have since established themselves as pioneers of the indie folk genre. With a solid and loyal fanbase and a well-deserved reputation for being talented musicians and passionate live performers, this is a band with the innate ability to capture and engage listeners of any music genre.Their sound is eclectic and diverse. Frontman Sam Taylor provides an edgy, raw and pained vocal flavour to rival the likes of Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons) and Charlie Fink (Noah And The Whale) with an added Scottish twang that oozes charm and individuality. Combined with a hyperactive style of plucked electro-acoustic guitar and spine-tinglingly good lyrics, it is Taylor’s ability to create, contrive and arrange music to absolute perfection that defines the stunning musical event that is Adelaide’s Cape.A uniquely flawless and always adapting rhythm set up on a myriad of different instruments from multi-faceted percussionist Hannah Richardson completes the permanent set up of the band, though collaborations with bass, keys and violin musicians have created new layers for a series of demo recordings, currently available to listen to on their MySpace.
After a sell out gig at Norwich Arts Centre earlier this year, and with a new part of the country to conquer, Adelaide’s Cape are explicitly destined for great things over the next eighteen months. In the run up to Christmas, they will record a debut EP and play their first gigs in London, before returning to their Norwich roots on January 15th in a highly-anticipated follow up gig at Norwich Arts Centre alongside Alex Sheppard and Stars Of Sunday League.
