Bath of Milk - Violet Kicks - Whiskey Lover Bass Boy

The moment Bath of Milk stepped onto the small, yet mighty Voodoo’s Stage was like hypnosis.

Their long-anticipated headline show was supported by likes of the dark and atmospheric sounds of Violet Kicks and the high energy alternative rock duo Whiskey Lover Bass Boy. This created the perfect atmosphere of what was to come.

Headlined by vocal powerhouse Hannah Shelley, Bath of Milk perfectly combined a variety of genres to produce a punky garage rock blending vintage sensibility, contemporary sing writing and elements of spoken word to create an atmospheric and hypnotic performance which we were very lucky to experience in the flesh.

They had the audience in the palm of their heads, nodding their head and dancing at every pluck and every beat, it was hard to stand still when you have such an interesting group in front of you. Their young yet captivating energy and sound is something that doesn’t come around that often, so if you haven’t checked them out – make sure to do so!

Their set included phenomenal singles, which are due to come out this year as hinted by the band during our interview, as well as elements of spoken word poetry which I particularly enjoy as it is not something you see often, their ability to incorporate elements of poetry in between their songs so flawlessly is what impressed me the most.
Bath of Milk is filling the gap in the music industry by highlighting a strong female energy and psych inspired grooves, this is some of the fresh sounds we want to see more of in Norwich, there’s absolutely no doubt that they will take the city’s music scene by storm!

Make sure to catch them at The Waterfront Studio on February 18th!
