Beach Riot - Suds- Collars
Bank holiday Sunday then and the best place to spend it was in Voodoo Daddys showroom with three of the best and brightest bands around.
Cambridgeshire based, but soon to be moving to our fine city, indie-punks Collars open the evening with their sublime one-two kick and punch set. The duo, who formed in 2018, have been gigging relentlessly and having won the Bury Sound competition last year they are certainly making musical waves.
With their debut album ‘Clyde’ (which was released last September) the band have a solid arsenal of songs to build from.

Everyone in the room was no doubt chuffed by their set, Collars will make a fine addition to the Norwich music scene, welcome to the club.
Having released their brilliant debut EP ‘In The Undergrowth’ on the equally brilliant Big Scary Monsters label in April, local gems Suds are currently riding the crest of a musical wave.
Playing shows consistently, four piece are really honing their craft.
Songs like ‘Notice Me’ and ‘Entropy’ are already massive fan favourites and with a wonderful stage presence Suds are shining.
There’s a really bright future ahead for them, their label knows it, the Norwich music scene knows it, soon the rest of the world will know it too. Oh, and by the way, Jack’s impression of Cal from Other Half is spot on.

The debut album can’t come soon enough, ideally with a headline tour and plenty of friendly faces with happy smiles staring back at them. Suds are an absolute joy.
Beach Riot headline the night with their sing-a-long fuzz pop noise that fills the showroom with wonder.
The Brighton based quartet are absolutely on fire, their live set is a wall of noise that drives at 120mph whilst still sounding melodic and true.
New single ‘Tell Me I’m Wrong’ really shone, the vocals from Rory and Cami blend wonderfully together, there’s a real BRMC vibe about the band, if you’re a fan of that fuzzy, feel-good warm vibration sound then Beach Riot are for you.
The band end their set with Rory joining the audience for ‘Stuck Inside’ and have promised to come back to Norwich again soon, if only to check out the 2nd of our two cathedrals. If they do play a gig however I’d strongly recommend you being there. Magical stuff.
