Dogtown

by Outline

Dogtown are a 3-piece energetic classic blues-rock band  based in Norwich.

The three friends Ollie Pickering, Dom Langan and James Plummer joined forces musically at college and after a number of changes in formation finally found a comfortable three-piece environment to work in.

In past experiences, Ollie and Dom have always been in bands together in the past, so the two always find it easy to connect when creating music. It was then after jamming with James who began college as an out of the band friend, things really started coming together.

In the 1 year that Dogtown have been together, they’re constantly channelling their passion and enthusiasm for music into a form of their own sound and success, with gig experience constantly building up under the belt, the future is looking positive.

In terms of gigs, Norwich seems to be the gem for Dogtown to really start to get their new and exciting sound around.

Gigs at the Art Centre and the Waterfront took place in March , a support slot for up and coming new band ‘Dorp’ in April and a numerous amount of gigs at B2, Queen Charlotte,

the Brickmakers and other various Norfolk venues with other circuit bands.

The influences of Dogtown range from the Mid 50’s blues such as Robert

Johnson to modern 21st Century rock as Jet, Kings of Leon, Queens of the Stone Age and of course The Black Keys. The influence of the band can easily be noticed at live shows as Dogtown covers The Black Keys ‘Your Touch’, Kings of Leons’ ‘Molly’s Chambers’, Thin Lizzys ‘Jailbreak’, Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Foxey Lady’ and T.REX ‘20th Century Boy’.
