The Genre-bending band, definitely put on a show which keep your eyes glued to their movements and subconsciously dancing along to their hyper tunes
The crowd was mesmerised as soon as Everything Everything took over the Waterfront stage, their uniform outfits, distinct melodies and tongue-twisting lyrics made sure that fans of the old and new were equally pleased.
The first part of the set had the crowd nodding and dancing along; I must admit, I wasn’t really familiar with their new stuff, but I was ecstatic with what I heard; especially the opener ‘Teletype’ in which the crowd automatically fell at their feet with the beginning of a very exciting and energetic set.
No matter how much time goes by, Everything Everything still keep that distinctive sound and image that is recognisable anywhere.
I must admit, my favourite moments, although to be expected, is when they shredded through the nostalgic favourites ‘Spring / Sun / Winter / Dead’ and ‘Kemosabe’. Of course, I may be a bit biased but being the first songs I had ever listened to when I discovered the band, makes these moments extra special, especially in a room in which everyone shares the love for what is on stage.
The night ended in the best way with the last three songs being what is in my opinion the peak of Everything Everything’s career, the mixture of the upbeat melody in ‘Violent Sun’, the high intensity of ‘Distant Past’ and my personal favourite and mesmerising ‘No Reptiles’ proved that Everything Everything are still here to stay and their high energy on stage is one that is unmatched.
