Eezy saw the concert as an obligation rather than generosity; it is the least that should be done in times like these.

With the state of the world right now, it is always nice to have a chance to help. UEA students have spent months putting together a concert to raise money for Palestine, Ukraine, and Sudan. On Friday the 6th of March, it came to life.

The Lineup consisted of Solomiia, Sinkhole, eezy, Dazar, The Aide and Jaded teeth. Whilst most of these artists were not to my music taste, the passion was universal in all the performances. There were a variety of genres from heavy metal to spoken word, and it all blended well together. I believe most of these artists are new to the music scene, so it was impressive how well they interacted with the audience.

There was anticipation from the crowd and I, due to it being student run, but the timings of the show were kept to, and it was very smoothly run.

Eezy stuck out to me. It was clear that he stood for justice and motivated the crowd with his words, “I want you to leave this building with energy.”

Though there are wars being started by people in power, eezy reminded the crowd that “There are more of us than there are them.”

He saw the concert as an obligation rather than generosity; it is the least that should be done in times like these.

The drummers in Sinkhole and The Aide were incredible - extremely fast paced yet not overwhelming and added so much to the songs. Poetry and spoken word speakers also routinely took to the stage, but their microphones seemed a lot quieter than the artists, so it was difficult to connect with them.

The event sold out and raised over a thousand pounds for charity. It was an exciting place to spend a Friday night, and my ears were ringing for days. I hope there will be more concerts like this one in the future.
