by Ian J
Mars

Mars is an 18-year-old bedroom pop artist based in Norfolk drawing influences from artists such as Carol Cleveland Sings, Teenage Fanclub, Julee Cruise and Girl In Red.
The music follows a dreamy synth-pop sound, lyrically celebrating queer experiences. Mars began to pursue a career in music when they joined access creative college in 2018; since then they have continued to perform locally in bands and as a solo musicians.
In November of 2020, they began creating short covers of dreamy songs on Tik-Tok and youtube using the omnichord. With 105k followers and over 1 million likes Mars is continuing to develop their online presence and reach.

In 2020 Mars produced their debut album ‘Party Favours’ for the locally celebrated ‘one-month album’ project - a quarterly challenge to writers, composers and performers to produce 10 tracks (or a minimum of 30 mins music) in one month. They are planning to take part in The next OMA in June, and release an EP before the end of the year.
