In the spirit of starting something new this January, the Walnut Tree Shades has upped the ante from their monthly Sunday Open Jazz Jam, to make it a weekly occasion, starting from Monday January 16th, and continuing weekly from then.
The previous monthly event always drew a good crowd of jazz aficionados and fans of the genre, giving the spotlight to the jazz musicians who might normally have their light hiding under a bushel. The same can be said for the planned weekly sessions; any musician of any level proficiency is welcome to come down with their instrument and give it a go. Barry Holman, well respected local jazz drummer, will be providing the back line to the evening, with other notable musicians already signing their names up to be part of the event.
The weekly Open Jazz Jam will run from 8pm each week, with more information about the pub in general to be found on their website, www.walnuttreeshades.com, or on the Outlineonline.co.uk directory.
