Passenger @ UEA
If you’re reading this Michael/Mike/M-dawg, Norwich is a city by the way.
You know you’re about to attend an awesome gig at The Nick Rayns LCR, UEA when you hit the campus pavement from your bus/car/bike/Segway/ride/taxi at the top of The Hill and pretty much join the end of the queue with that first step. With the satellite-confusingly huge centipede of fans making their way into the venue, the place was soon packed out, with a little smoke and mirrors trickery of The Hive being closed off for the night. Support act The Once, were interesting to say the least; at one point they introduced a song about death, which was understandably morbid but surprisingly actually soon picked up, so yeah they were certainly a successful supporting band attracting the bar fly fans’ attention from their sups at plastic cups. After quite a lengthy pause of black out after the support set finished, and the crowd wondering and whispering of whether there could be another support act, Passenger took to the stage. Michael Rosenberg took centre stage with his acoustic axe, and took the not-letting-the-sound-of-a-pin-drop-be-heard audience on a journey of getting to know the man behind the music. Apart from being witness to ‘Let Her Go’ from this talented string-tickling songster, a highlight of the night was support act The Once taking to the stage again in order to super-pump an outstanding mash up collaboration. They played all the good tunes that the mature-in-mind-and musical-knowledge could appreciate; Brown Eyed Girl, Dancing In The Dark and Go Your Own Way; it was a great way to wrap the night up. If you’re reading this Michael/Mike/M-dawg, Norwich is a city by the way. I’m sure the fine city folk of Norwich can forgive this initial ‘I’m a donut’ slip up, so come back soon! nawaza
