"After two great opening sets, the crowd we’re primed to jump around for the Rizzle Kicks lads as they hit the stage to the Inspector Gadget theme tune." - Nawaza catches the Rizzle Kicks show...
With people queuing all the way up from the LCR to the public car park, it was a given that this would be a dance-floor-jammed-gig. As the sold out venue filled to capacity just in time for Random Impulse to kick start the night, people found their place in the main room as close to the lively-teen-compressed-dance-floor as possible, leaving the Hive dead for the night.
Random Impulse, down a member, rocked the place as a trio, getting the crowd started with a set that fell somewhere nicely between the look of Bloc Party and the sound of the Libertines and Bromheads Jacket. The song of the set had to be their ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’ cover and as Random Impulse had just nailed their set the crowd were jumping for Pepper as she hit the stage on her DJ’s introduction.
Pepper, being the latest artist signed to Dirtee Stank, Dizzee Rascal’s record label, had the right tunes to keep the crowd hyped getting a mosh pit started midway through her set. After two great opening sets, the crowd we’re primed to jump around for the Rizzle Kicks lads as they hit the stage with a build up of lights paired with the Inspector Gadget theme tune. The lads kept the crowd jumping with all their stereo-typical tracks and as the crowd were bouncing off the walls a camera man was introduced to the stage recording a few clips for an up coming music video.
The night was perfectly rounded off with an encore of ‘Down With The Trumpets’ after the lad’s original exit from the stage left the crowd screaming for more.
