Trainspotting II
Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose mainly writing about films that no fucker other than you and other film reviewers will watch. Choose being excited as fuck when one of you favourite movies ever gets the sequel that you never thought it would, and choose a fucking big television (called a cinema) to watch it on. Choose popcorn, expensive drinks, and not being able to pause the fucking movie whilst you go for a piss for up to two whole fucking hours. Choose sitting through fucking car adverts, film trailers and middle class dickheads just to watch the movie on a big screen, because it’s way fucking better that way. Choose putting your money where your mouth is by telling people to watch this film that you haven’t even fucking seen because it isn’t even fucking out yet. Choose this movie because it’s not being made to sell toys, clothes, or colourful fucking lunchboxes to children. Choose this film for many reasons, and then list those fucking reasons because it’s 2am, and you think it’s a clever premise. Choose your friends. Choose them based on whether they love Trainspotting (with “yeah, I fucking love Trainspotting” being the correct answer). Choose to watch the sequel to Trainspotting. Choose Danny fucking Boyle to direct it, choose Irwin fucking Welsh to write it, and choose all the characters from the original movie to feature in it. Choose to see what happens when they all meet up two fucking decades later; cleverly done, being as it’s been twenty fucking years since the first one came out. Choose Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner, and Kelly Macdonald to reprise their roles, and choose them to act their fucking socks off. Fuck it – even choose Irvine Welsh to have a little cameo in it, just like he did in the first one. Choose it be as edgy, as stylish, and to be as good, if not better than the original. Choose to go with your friends to see it. Choose your future. Choose life. Again.
