Punk In The East, one of the UK’s largest online catalogues of original punk history, is putting together an exhibition of original photography, clothing and ephemera from the Eastern Counties that has ever been seen in one place before. Highlights include the actual poster from Norwich’s first ever punk gig in 1976, the original Sex Pistols advert from the University of East Anglia (UEA) that very same year and a series of stunning street and gig photography from right accross the region including previously unseen images from Norwich , Cambridge and West Runton too.
Taking to the stage on the night will be The Steve Ignorant Band, performing songs by Crass in celebration of five decades of punk. Crass played twice in Norwich back in the day. Once an outright riotous gig at the UEA Barn in the late 1970s and one at the much-loved Gala Ballroom, a short while later.
