A Bit of No Strings Fun

Hocus Pocus Theatre’s awesome Burlesque Club Night, No Stringe Boogaloo is all about dressing up, dancing to great music and glamorous stage shows in between and comes to the Norwich Arts Centre on Sat 19th Nov. With performances from international burlesque showgirls Miss Banbury Cross, Laurie Hagen plus special guests. DJ JazzLord and friends will have the joint jumping as they spin a refreshing mix of rare and vintage vinyl from Rhythm & Blues to Ska, Cumbia and world music. From home grown promotions to a real coup of an import – NAC welcomes ‘A Hawk and a Hacksaw Rescore ‘Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors’, which is being performed in only 3 places, The Barbican, All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival and Norwich Arts Centre on Nov 30th. New Mexico’s widescreen roving folk duo A Hawk and A Hacksaw present their first live soundtrack, a brand new rescore of legendary Russian director Sergio Paradjanov’s classic film “Shadows Of Forgotten Ancestors”. Mixing folklore, sorcery and religious symbolism, the film tells the age old tale of a peasant’s love and loss set high up in the Carpathian mountains.
