Enter Shikari // A Flash Flood of Colour

"One main theme of the lyrics, that are so cleverly written and performed, is that of politics and discussion of the world's current economic climate. It wouldn't be Enter Shikari without a little politics thrown in, right?"

Enter Shikari -  A Flash Flood Of Colour (Ambush Reality)

Having not released a 'proper' full length album since the distant days of 2009, Enter Shikari and their genre-bending originality are exploding back onto the scene with their new album 'A Flash Flood Of Colour'. Shikari have yet again managed to pull off, in my opinion, an almost flawless album which perfectly joins together elements of post-hardcore and heavy drum and bass, not forgetting to throw in a little dubstep every here and there. Main stand-out tracks for me come in the form of singles 'Sssnakepit' and 'Ghandi mate, Ghandi' but that's not to say the album tracks are anything to be missed. 'Arguing With Thermometers'  kicks in with a heavy metal beat and then continues to delightfully transform itself into at least 3 other genres by the time the track ends 3 minutes and 22 seconds later. These heavy, dance-worthy songs brilliantly harmonise with the slower, more melodic sounds of 'Stalemate' and 'Consellations'. One main theme of the lyrics, that are so cleverly written and performed, is that of politics and discussion of the world's current economic climate. It wouldn't be Enter Shikari without a little politics thrown in, right? In fact these strong lyrics and ingenius metaphors add a whole other layer of quality and appeal to the album. So many songs nowadays are written just to make money and not to actually say or express anything important. This record is a fantastic step up from Common Dreads and I recommend it to lovers and haters of the band. To the fans: this is yet again a beautifully produced album that you will love and will go perfectly with your CD collection. To the haters: give it a go, it's your loss if you don't!
