Justice - Woman Worldwide
Fans of French electro-house duo Justice should be used to the Gallic knob-twiddlers' modus operandi – record and release studio album; tour the world; return home; release live album; repeat.
It is now eleven years since Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay dropped their D.A.N.C.E. EP, with a title track that redefined French house music. Since then, they have produced three studio albums and two live collections. It therefore comes as no surprise to find that 2016's Woman is now augmented and supplemented by the release of Woman Worldwide, a 90 minute souvenir of Justice's last tour, featuring all but one of the songs from the studio album and fleshed out with a good smattering of numbers from Audio, Video, Disco, and from 2007's iconic crucifix logo debut.
However, whilst the last two live collections were truly 'live' albums, Woman Worldwide is basically a studio re-construction and re-recording of the tour performances. So, for those who consider the audience cheers and between-song racontage to be an integral part of a 'live' album experience, then Woman Worldwide might disappoint. Although, if you want a superbly produced, one-and-a-half-hour chronicle version of Justice's most recent setlist; then this is an absolute stonker of a record.
