Too little space here for six acts so forgive the brevity...

Opener Ben C Winn provides poetry and spoken word with some music, a bit like a Southern John Shittleworth doing John Cooper Clarke. There are a few technical issues and this is a work in progress but I’ll be keeping an eye on Ben. (5/10)

The Grazing Saints' swamp-rockcombines Credence with Mudhoney and post-rock to good effect. (7/10)

To avoid confusion with neo-Nazi death metallers, Host may need a change of name but nowt needs changing in their gothy post-rock, taking elements of Joy Division, The Cure and Chameleons and adding hints of Portishead & Tricky. (8/10)

The Doomed Birds of Providence take accordion, fiddle, bass, guitar and minimal drums to create an intense, unique taken on gothic folk, albeit with some hints of the Bad Seeds. (9/10

In fine voice as ever, Emily Winng plays some great tropicalia, all good cheer on the surface but with cutting lyrics. (7/10

If Crosby Stills & Nash, Crazy Horse, Grateful Dead and Mamas & Papas ever got together and jammed with MBV, the result would probably sound nothing like Rose Windows but that gives a hint of their melodic, psychedelic sound. (9/10)
