She Makes War - UEA

Supporting The Levellers and The Selecter isn’t an easy task but Laura Kidd AKA She Makes War does a fine job of winning over those that are at the UEA early enough to see her opening set. Playing guitar and ukulele, utilising loop peddles and with a great voice, Laura is a warm and engaging performer.

From Little Battles and Disarm, older songs Shields and Daggers, Slow Puncture,  Delete and Not In My Name are as strong as ever True Best promises much for the soon to be recorded Direction of Travel LP. Scared To Capsize didn’t include the audience participation that is a key part of the performance before a more receptive crowd but was a fine closer nonetheless.

Anyone with any interest in inventive pop music should get tickets for She Makes War at OPEN in March right now. (8/10)
