Sound Of Guns – Angels & Enemies (Distiller Records)
After being discovered by BCC Introducing, the five Sound Of Guns lads are back once again after releasing their debut 2010 ‘What Came From Fire’ album with their follow up ‘Angels & Enemies’. The lads make their return with a further ten amazing indie pop tracks, with Dave Eringa of The Manic Street Preachers and Ocean Colour Scene fame producing this, the ‘sure to be as big a hit as their previous album’ record. After headlining the HMV Next Big Thing Festival earlier this month, the lads kicked off their biggest tour to date hitting Europe with a few stops and travelling around the UK; although they sadly won’t be stopping in our fine city, the closest place you can find them would be in that-there-London! These lads would certainly be worth the trip; they’re not afraid of appealing to the masses with their alternative rock indie sound and after getting through the events of their guitars being stolen and studio burning to the ground, the lads are coming back nonetheless with an ear-raising energy fans will be expecting. The drum heavy rock track ‘Silicon’ is the first release from the album, my own hope being that the ballad ‘Sometimes’ will be next to be released, but in the mean time you can check out the video for the track on their website. These lads are big, they’re staying big and they’re only gonna get bigger, so check them out!
