The Plasterer’s Arms

Mosaic City, Golden Triangle Brewery

Sometimes it takes leaving the Fine City of Norwich to realise just how awesome it is, and sometimes all it takes is getting to show a non-local around. After spending the day sightseeing (or ‘going to vintage record shops in between my favourite pubs and pointing at old buildings’) my chap from London and I settled into The Plasterer’s Arms, Cowgate. He wanted to catch the football and if I was going to sit through a match I was going to do it in a decent boozer. This evening’s beer was a refreshing pale ale called Mosaic City. At 3.8% it was a session ale but nice and hoppy with a citrus pinch at the end. In keeping with the theme of our day it was decidedly local, being brewed by the Golden Triangle Brewery in Norwich itself and, to top it all off, was served in a dimple glass. Just the way I like it. We ordered food from in-house pizza purveyors Voodoo Daddy’s to soak up some of the beer. and while I went for an infinitely sensible combo of meat and cheese, the fella ordered something with nuts and coconut shavings. I’m still not sure how I feel about it. After West Ham won the match we lost the pub quiz. Should really stick to writing about beer.
