The energy levels remain as high as ever and Feeder are certainly still fighting fit, you will not see them hitting any walls at this stage of their almost marathon career of twenty one years.
So, Feeder return back to one of their very favourite haunts, Norwich’s waterfront on a four date mini tour to promote their new album ‘Generation Freakshow’.
With acoustic guitar in hand, Grant Nicholas appears alone initially on stage to wild rapturous applause for an acoustic rendition of new track ‘Children Of The Sun’. They are a band that has had it all, writing some real classic rock anthems in the process, playing arenas and stadiums to massive audiences all over the World along the way, making this evening even more special for the diehards.
The Norwich riverside venue holds some very special and emotional memories for the band as the front man informs the very passionate crowd, that he has had a few Jon Lee moments, since he arrived there today (the original drummer sadly committed suicide in 2002).
Tonight we are informed and will indeed already have known (if you read the local press or the Feeder facebook and web page) is all about new music and everyone in the house is not taking any issue with that as they appear absolutely thrilled just to have a ticket for this most intimate of gigs.
Several of the tracks that were written during the 2010, ‘Renegades’ period and were kept in the bands locker have now found a home on the new album. Initial recording sessions for ‘Generation Freakshow’, were carried out in New York in early 2011 and as with ‘Renegades’ it has now been released on their own white label, Big Teeth Music.
New tracks. ‘Idaho’, ‘Oh My’ and title track ‘Generation Freakshow’, confirm that they still have a real feeling and passion for their music.
There is still plenty of time for some old favourites, ‘Buck Rogers’, Feeling A Moment’, ‘Just The Way I’m Feeling’, ‘High’, ‘Just A Day’, Insomnia’ and ‘Renegades’.

They are still talking to a generation and for a band that’s been around for that length of time, that’s no mean feat. The sun may not have been shining much in this neck of the woods year to date, but tonight everyone’s smiles in the audience are shining very bright indeed.
There are no complaints as everyone departs on a natural high, feeling very much in the moment and purring like a Jaguar.
Expect to see them back in Norwich later in the year, somewhere a little bit bigger, hopefully.
