Lower than Atlantis
A mixed bag at Epic
The intimacy of Epic Studios is one to be jealous of - most venues could not capture a similar atmosphere. With low lit glowing lights and huge screens to allow some to enjoy the show from a distance, Epic has done well in attempting to unite members of the audience of all ages. Opening act Pvris (8.5/10) set out with the intention to blow the audience away through overwhelmingly loud electronic beats and succeed in converting members of the audience who are experiencing their music for the first time. With this in mind, We Are The Ocean (6/10) open up with the same energy. Their set becomes dreary and lacklustre - suddenly it is sadly noticeable the virtuoso spark which once fuelled their music has disappeared. Headlining act Lower than Atlantis (6.5/10) must make up for this quickly and hastily do so with their opening songs. Unfortunately, they follow the steps of their predecessors of the stage, causing the lively attitude of their music to be lost as the show goes on. Lower than Atlantis’ efforts to fill out the stage is admirable, but yet the show has undisputedly been stolen by their opening act.
