Years and Years - Communion
10/10!
As we already know, this album is a number one smash, literally! It feels like this electronica trio have appeared from nowhere and taken the airwaves by storm. I first heard their single Shine as a track of the day (or some such promotional thing on Radio 1) and thought to myself how catchy and great it was it. Since then seemed like they just kept the hits coming and as a result this album is a true representation of their utterly great electronic pop/dance music. Do not make the mistake of thinking that the album only has the few singles on it that are worth listening to, quite the contrary! Every single track is superbly crafted with a gorgeous mix of electronic sound, beautiful harmonies taken care of by lead vocalist Olly Alexander. I think we can all agree that his voice is spine tingling and the lyrics just made for singing along to at the top of your voice! Communion has an excellent build up, with a great variety of tracks that range from high energy dance anthems to chilled out musical delights. I can’t stop listening to it!
