Sun Of Cash

CoversCountryBluesBand of the month

Sun Of Cash formed early in 2008 to play at a wedding. It went so well that the guys decided to take it further. Since then, Sun Of Cash have gigged continuously on the Norfolk & Suffolk pub circuit. They have appeared at Norwich's Bo Nanafana events, and played the Norwich & Norfolk Festival in 2009 & 2010, as well as appearing on local radio in Norfolk, Suffolk, & Cambridge. They released a 6 track CD in 2010, and opened for rockers 'The Jim Jones Revue' at a sell out gig in the Norwich Arts Centre. In July of this year Sun Of Cash played the 'Outdoor Arena' as part of the Latitude Festival, reportedly pulling the largest crowd that the Outdoor Arena saw all weekend.

Influences: Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, also many of the lesser known recording artists from Sun Records in the 1950s Releases: A 6-track CD/EP is available from the band. The title track is our Cash take on The Sex Pistols' song ‘Pretty Vacant’. There are three Cash tracks, a Hank Williams track, and a track by Belfast's answer to Hank Willimas, called Paddy Calvert. There's only about 100 copies left, so buy one while you can!
