Friday Boys is an absurdist post-punk power trio from Austin, TX consisting of songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist Scott Riegel, accompanied by the hyperactive textures of drummer Balin Reyes and the impeccable melodic counterpoints of bassist J.D. Brunson. Together they create a fuzzed-out, sharp-witted brew all their own, with notes of the 70's New York alt-rock scene and the raw Detroit garage rock of the 90's. Their new album "Depressed Gang" is coming out September 1st, and the first single (same title) is coming on August 18th. The song is a raw but poppy punk tune about the very 2020s sense of malaise we feel when we realize our lives have been plotted out for us by forces beyond our control. We don't have an answer, but we can sing some tunes along the way.
