The renowned orchestra perform Bizet, Ravel, Thorvaldsdottir and Prokofiev
One of the most virtuosic orchestras performing on the international scene today is the hugely talented Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
On their first full tour of Great Britain they will be conducted by the popular French conductor, Yan Pascal Tortelier, who for many years was Artistic Director of the BBC Philharmonic.
The leading French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet will play the Ravel Left Hand Piano Concerto. The concert begins with Bizet’s romantic L’Arlesienne Suite and ends with that most popular of all ballet scores, Prokofiev’s searingly dramatic Romeo & Juliet.
