To soundtrack a mountain: proem, a new work for percussion and electronics.
A composition with invented instruments exploring the visceral, tangible nature of sound. Inspired by Cadair Idris, a mountain in North Wales steeped in myth and folklore.
Bringing mountainous ideas to a flat landscape with ambient and weather-beaten resonance. The performance walks metaphorical mountains, asks why we climb them, and what we bring back.
Drôn workshop for 14-19 YOs, 11am, Saturday 15 February
An opportunity for young musicians to hear the story and process that formed and forged the Drôn work in progress performance. A workshop in going there and coming back again, in findings, exploration and environments, built and travelled. A chance to work with invented instruments and learn hands-on skills in creating and building hand-made percussion and electronics from concept to realisation.
