Crown the Empire at @Waterfront
Crown the Empire at the Waterfront
Alive Like Me opened the show with a bang, getting the crowd going straight away. Opening with Start Again got the crowd cheering. Dangerkids followed, perhaps too eagerly, as the crowd seemed to be waiting forever for them to feel comfortable on stage before they actually started. Despite this, they looked more comfortable after their first few songs and approached the rest of their set with more energy and crowd participation. The main support, Set It Off, were invited to the stage with chants and cheers. They're well known for their dynamic performances, and lived up to their reputation. Cody Carson, the front man, made sure he was noticed, and dominated the stage with his effective vocals.
After a long wait, Crown The Empire finally took to the stage, opening with an extremely theatrical Oh Catastrophe. The dimmed lighting made for a dramatic and creepy effect. In a typically Crown The Empire move, the calm was followed by the storm of The Fallout,”with full-blown guitar riffs and jumping throughout. The high energy levels didn’t dip throughout the whole set; despite the crowd looking exhausted towards the end they still requested another song. And with Crown The Empire's return it seemed to be as if the whole show had started all over again.
It was an incredible show and worth the wait. I recommend everyone and anyone to get out and go see Crown The Empire; you definitely wont be disappointed!
