Just Mustard are on tour for their new album Heart Under.
The band from Ireland came to greet us Norwich fans with an intimate gig at the infamous Voodoo Daddy’s on Saturday night. I wasn’t sure what to expect when coming to this gig, I had listened to Just Mustard occasionally, but not seen anything live from them; I stepped into Voodoo’s and saw a group of people in all black, with their leather jackets on. I knew this was going to be a good night.
Heart Under is Just Mustard’s second album. They are a 5-piece band from Dundalk, Ireland. With 17.9K followers on Instagram, they are a band you need to get to know.
The evening started with a drink and a pizza (you must get a pizza when at Voodoo’s, it’s too good to miss). After a bite to eat in the bar area, we moved upstairs where the gig was held. White Flowers and Lemondaze were supporting Just Mustard, both young bands, their indie/pop-rock music got the audience moving. I had not heard of them both before, so it was refreshing to hear something new. I will definitely be adding them to my Spotify playlist.
Just Mustard came on around 9:45pm, the room was packed, neon lights were flashing, and the smoke machine was going, the atmosphere was incredible. With a mix of slow, dreamy indie music and then more rock, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Every instrument was played incredibly, the drums filled the room. I have to say, the head banging was at its finest from the crowd. I Am You and 23 were my favourite song from the night, Katie’s vocals were something else, it was stunning to listen too.
All the bands complemented each other
